Lifted the front passengers side carpet and found a damp spot. Have got to try and trace where it's coming from but have started work on the subsequent rust. It's only surface so have sanded/wire brushed, then used Kurust and then primer. That's all I am going to get done today. If you are checking your Transit pull off the door seal as mine had rusty parts all the way up around the windscreen.
The plan is to underseal any non visible areas and use a blue paint on the step that is a match-ish.

Insulation finished.
Finished the insulation on the van sides and sliding door today. The panels are also back on now. Still got the top of the sliding door and the roof to do but that will be in the future.

Insulated van.
Had a while today so have been putting some insulation I was given behind the ply on the van. Have finished both back doors and was working on the long side of the van. Whilst doing this the builders in the unit next to us arrived and gave me a ribbing about the van and asked if my wife had thrown me out, thanks guys!
Anyway I am used to being a figure of fun with the van so took it well! This was great as after having a laugh they then went into their unit and found out a load of insulation off cuts. Now I should have enough to do the van. It's the foiled backed Kingspan type stuff and I have been putting large bubble wrap into any voids left. Most of it is done now although the roof may prove to be interesting.
Also had the van up on the ramps and bandaged a hole in the exhaust. It's in the usual place on the front pipe between the bendy pipe and the joint.
Have sorted out a pressure washer to blast the rubbish off the chassis before undersealing. I am hoping that the pressure is not too great or it might blast some holes in it!

Ebay seats bargain
Yesterday I won these seats for the fantastic price of £26. I collected them today and they look ideal for the job and include the quick release, unwin tracking for both the seats. Originally the idea was to fit one seat in the back and sell the other to recoup some costs. They are that cheap though I may fit them facing each other with a table in between, not sure yet.
Not planning on fitting them just yet as plenty to do at the moment. It looks like the one towards the back of the van would be relatively easy to fit but the one towards the front will need the tank dropping.

New aerial time
It was becoming apparent that the reception on the van aerial was getting worse, If fact it basically wasn't working. After climbing up to check the aerial I gave it a wiggle and it fell off, case closed. They are £13 on ebay but I found a classier alternative.

Got the van back.
Have got the van back today. Some of the welding is not pretty but it is at least very strong and now has a full MOT. Still smarting over the £500 though.

Whats the point of this blog?
Good question. Really it is just to document the exploits of running and using our van. I hope you will find it interesting! There will be some posts about the past history of the van, whilst catching up with the latest changes to the van also.
Why the blue van? The van was bought to save hiring a van when we moved house. As is always the case, when we needed one the choice was limited but this van was in the best condition. Along with this, the van also has the turbo diesel engine. After using the van for the move we decided to keep the van and convert it into day van/camper.
Glamper Van - OK so having decided to convert the van to a camper what was the main consideration. Well cost really! We didn't want to spend loads of cash on it so basically tried to use what we had, had given or could be bought cheaply.
